ToolsQuick answers you can check for yourself.
These tools answer the questions people get stuck on before they ring anyone: what size, what it'll use, split or ducted, repair or replace, what Victoria's gas heating rules mean for you, and whether a quote is complete. Each one runs in your browser, sends nothing to us, and says plainly where its answer stops.
Which tool do you need?
| Use it when | Have this handy | |
|---|---|---|
| Size calculator | You're choosing a split or sizing a ducted system | The room's length, width and ceiling height |
| Running cost tool | You want to know how much power a unit uses | Its input power, your hours and the rate on your bill |
| Split or ducted? | You're not sure which kind of system suits the house | A rough idea of your home's size and roof space |
| Repair or replace? | Something has gone wrong and you're weighing it up | The system's rough age and what it's doing |
| Gas heater dead? | A gas heater has failed in Victoria | Whether you live in the home or rent it out |
| Is my quote complete? | You have a written quote in hand | The quote itself |
What the tools can't do
None of them can see your home. A size worked out from floor area misses the insulation, the glass and the way the house faces, which is why Mitsubishi Electric calls a professional heat load calculation essential. Treat each answer as a sharper question to ask an installer, not a decision.
None of them show prices either. We don't publish any, because a written quote from someone who has seen the job is the figure to trust.
What we'd do
Where we'd start
If you're buying, start with the split or ducted quiz, then the size calculator. If something's broken, do the safe checks on the repair or replace page first. And before you sign anything, run the quote checker over it. When you're ready, tell us the job on the quote form. Licence-checked local installers who do that kind of work will see it, and your contact details go only to the one who takes it.

We don't publish prices. Every home is different, so an installer's written quote is the only real number. How we write and check these pages.
