Why we started
Finding someone to fit a split or replace a ducted heater usually means one of two things: ringing around from a search, or filling in a form that sends your details to several businesses at once. Neither is much fun when the heater dies in July.
We think you're better off with an installer who does your kind of job all the time. A ducted gas heating specialist, an evaporative cooler technician and a split system installer are close to separate trades, and even the licences split that way: someone holding the ARC's restricted RSS03 can install a single-head split, but can't come back to regas it.
And despite the name, heating is at least half of it. In a 2021 survey of Victorian home owners in areas with mains gas, done for the Victorian Government, half mostly heated their homes with gas ducted heating.
What we are, and what we're not
We're a referral service. We check installers, then show each job to the local ones who do that kind of work, with only your first name and suburb. Your contact details go to one installer: the first to take the job. The tick box on the form is your agreement for Blufire to share your details with one local aircon technician so they can contact you about this job. That installer quotes you, does the work and stands behind it.
We're not an installer, a retailer or any brand's dealer, and we don't sell units. We're not part of any government program either. Victorian Energy Upgrades discounts, for example, come from private accredited providers, and the program is voluntary.
Where we are today
We're new. Our network of installers is still being built, we don't have reviews of our own yet, and there are areas and kinds of job we can't cover yet. Where we can help right now: areas and jobs covered at launch.
In areas we can't cover yet, there may be nobody local to take your job. If no local installer takes it within 48 hours, installers elsewhere in your state may see it too, and your contact details still go only to the one who takes it. And if you're not sure what the job is yet, we'd rather point you to a good guide than to the wrong installer.

What we'd do
Where we'd start
If you're not sure yet what you need, don't ask anyone to quote. Try split or ducted or repair or replace, read the guide that fits, and come back when you know the job. The installer's visit will be a better one for it.
