The three steps
You tell us the job
What you need, what's there now, when you'd like it done and your postcode. It takes a couple of minutes on the quote form.
Local specialists see it
Licence-checked installers near you who do that kind of work see the job, your first name and your suburb, but not your phone number or email. A ducted gas heater replacement and a single bedroom split are different jobs, so different installers see them.
One takes it and contacts you
The first installer to take your job gets your contact details, and they're the only one who does. They arrange a time to look and give you a written quote. Whether you go ahead is entirely up to you, and you deal with them directly from there.
Your details go to one installer, not five
Plenty of quote sites pass your details to several businesses at once, and they all ring. That's tiring for you and it turns the job into a race to the cheapest number rather than the right system.
Here, your job is only seen by installers who do that kind of work every week, and your number goes to just one of them: the one who takes it. If the quote isn't right for you, you're free to say no.
What we check before an installer hears about your job
- Their technicians' refrigerant handling licences, on the Australian Refrigeration Council's public check.
- The business's Refrigerant Trading Authorisation certificate.
- Their state licence or registration for the work, on the state register where one exists.
- Public liability insurance.
- An active ABN.
- What they actually specialise in, so they only see the kinds of job they do.
- How often we re-check: recheck frequency.
How we're paid
Installers pay us: installer pricing model. You pay us nothing, now or later.
Being paid by installers is the reason we're strict about who we work with. If an installer stops meeting our checks, they stop seeing new jobs. You can read the details in our referral disclosure.
What happens to your details
Find My Aircon, and the system that shows jobs to installers, are both run by Blufire Pty Ltd. Installers who could take your job see what you need, your first name and your suburb. Your phone number and email go only to the installer who takes it, and we never sell them on.
Ticking the consent box on the form is your agreement to Blufire sharing your details with one local aircon technician so they can contact you about this job. Our privacy policy explains what we keep and for how long.
If no installer near you takes your job within 48 hours, installers elsewhere in your state or territory may see it too. Either way, only the one who takes it gets your contact details. When you send the form, Blufire checks your mobile number is real and uses automated tools to read your message and work out the size of the job. Some of the service providers Blufire uses are in the United States.
