What is Find My Aircon?
We're a referral website for heating and cooling. Homeowners come to us for split systems, ducted systems, gas heating, hydronic, evaporative cooling, servicing and repairs, and each job is shown to the installers who cover their postcode and do that kind of work.
We're new, and we'd rather say so up front. There are no installers in the network yet, so you won't find reviews, job photos or success stories here, and we won't make any up.
How does a job reach you?
A homeowner describes the job
What they need, what's there now, when they'd like it done and their postcode. The quote form is short on purpose, so expect to fill in the detail on your first call.
They agree to one installer contacting them
Before they send, they tick a box agreeing to Blufire, which runs Find My Aircon, sharing their details with one local installer who can contact them about this job.
Local installers see it
Installers who do that kind of job in that area see it, with the homeowner's first name and suburb but not their phone or email. How jobs are delivered is how jobs are delivered, and each one is seen by the local installers who cover the area.
The first to take it gets the details
Take the job and you get the homeowner's name, phone and email. You call, look at the home and give a written quote. The homeowner is your customer from that first call, and we stay out of the way.
Why do the details go to one installer, not five?
Once you've taken a job, no other installer is sent that homeowner's details, and we never sell them on. Your first conversation can be about their house and their heating, rather than about beating someone else's number.
Jobs are split by type, so a ducted gas heating specialist and a split system specialist can cover the same postcode and still see different jobs. How areas and job types are divided is how areas and job types are divided, and the open areas page explains the rest.
What do we check before your first job?
- Each technician's ARC refrigerant handling licence, RAC01 or RSS03, on the ARC's public licence check.
- Your Refrigerant Trading Authorisation (RTA) certificate.
- Your state licence or registration for the jobs you want, on the state register where one exists.
- A current public liability certificate and an active ABN.
- The jobs you actually specialise in, because those are the jobs you'll see.
What isn't decided yet?
Some of this is still being set, and we'd rather show the gaps than paper over them. What you pay per job is installer pricing. Contract terms are contract length and notice. Which areas open first is launch areas. What is settled is that a job no local installer takes within 48 hours may be shown to installers elsewhere in the homeowner's state.
What happens when a job turns out to be a wrong number or a duplicate is bad job credits. You'll have all of it in writing before you sign anything. The detail on each licence, state by state, is on the licences we check.
What we'd do
What we'd do in your shoes
We'd treat any new source of jobs as a trial. Take a handful, note which ones you quoted and won and what each won job was worth, and give it a season. If it doesn't pay its way by then, drop it, and that goes for us too.
