Where do Braemar products come from?
Seeley shows an "Australian designed made and owned" logo on its Braemar ReBuff 5 Star ducted gas heater page. The reverse cycle side is different. Seeley says "The Braemar inverter product range is sourced from" Gree.
braemar.com.au now redirects to Seeley's site, where you'll find the manuals, warranty terms and dealer finder. We don't sell Braemar and aren't a Seeley dealer; we match each heating or cooling job with one licence-checked installer who specialises in that type of system.
How do the Braemar warranties differ?
| Evaporative and gas heating | Reverse cycle | |
|---|---|---|
| Standard home cover | 5 years | 5 years |
| Longer cover | 7 years, if first bought through a participating Seeley dealer | 2 extra years on eligible ducted, high wall and multi split systems bought and installed from 1 October 2026 |
| What the longer cover needs | Seeley's gas heater page asks for registration within 6 months of purchase and a chargeable fourth-year service by Seeley or its nominee | Registration within 6 months of the installation date |
| Heat exchanger and burner | 10 years on ducted gas heating | Not applicable |
| Commercial use | See Seeley's terms | 2 years |
Seeley's reverse cycle promotion leaves out the Dominator Series, cassettes and commercial use, nursing and aged care homes included, and on a multi split every indoor and outdoor unit must be registered.
Which installer does each Braemar need?
A Braemar ducted gas heater or wall furnace needs a licensed gasfitter, ideally one who services ducted gas heating all winter. Seeley says gas heaters need servicing at least once every two years by a licensed and qualified gas fitter.
An evaporative cooler is a roof job with a water connection, so look for someone who installs and services evaporative coolers week in, week out.
Reverse cycle needs an ARC refrigerant licence. Seeley says a Braemar multi split can run up to five indoor units from one outdoor unit, which takes a full RAC01 licence holder: the restricted RSS03 licence doesn't cover multi-head systems.
Can I add cooling to a Braemar gas heater?
Sometimes. Seeley says its add-on cooling units only go with specific Braemar ducted gas heater models, fitted with a new heater or added later where the airflow and duct design suit. Replacing a heater now and might want cooling later? Say so at the quote. Our add-on cooling page explains the job.
What you can handle
You can
- Register on time. Seeley's gas heater page asks for it within 6 months of purchase, and the reverse cycle promotion within 6 months of installation.
- Download your manual from Seeley's product manuals page, filtered by brand.
- On a gas heater after the 7 years, put the fourth-year service in your calendar on install day.
Leave to a licensed installer
- Gas connections, flues and burners on heaters and wall furnaces.
- Anything on the roof with an evaporative cooler.
- Refrigerant pipework on splits and multi splits.
- The fourth-year service, which Seeley says must be done by Seeley or its appointed nominee.
Before you sign for a Braemar
- For evaporative or gas: is the seller a participating Seeley dealer?
- The exact model, and whether it's eligible for the extra reverse cycle years.
- Who registers the product, and by what date.
- For gas, who does the gasfitting and issues the compliance paperwork.
- For a multi split, the installer's RAC01 licence and RTA number.
What we'd do
Our take
Work out which Braemar job you have, then match the installer to the job rather than the badge. For an evaporative cooler or gas heater where you want the 7 years, we'd buy through a participating Seeley dealer, register in the first week rather than month six, and ask up front whether a fourth-year service comes with it.
