Peninsula, suburbs and hinterland
Council covers 2,042 km2: the Redcliffe Peninsula, Pine Rivers suburbs such as Albany Creek, Strathpine, Kallangur and North Lakes, the Caboolture area including Morayfield, Burpengary and Narangba, Bribie Island, and range localities up to Mount Mee and Mount Glorious.
More homes sharing walls
Separate houses fell from 85.9% of dwellings in 2011 to 81.1% in 2021, while semi-detached, terrace and townhouse dwellings rose from 7.4% to 13.3%. More jobs now involve a body corporate.
Four kinds of flooding
Council describes river and creek flooding, overland flow, tidal inundation of very low coastal land in big high tides, and storm tide when severe weather drives a surge. One property can be exposed to more than one.
Salt on the bay side
Moreton and North Stradbroke Islands shelter the bay from big swells, and most of its waves are raised by local winds. Calm water still carries salt: MHIAA's warranty terms, for one, put extra corrosion protection on the owner in coastal sea air.
Council handles the noise
City of Moreton Bay investigates air conditioner noise itself. From 10pm to 7am a unit can't exceed 3 decibels above background, and from 7am to 10pm, 5. It won't act on anonymous complaints.
Jobs by part of the city

The hinterland. Dayboro, Samford Village and the range are well away from the bay's salt. We don't have climate figures for them, so ask an installer who works up there how much the heating side gets used.

Run Council's Flood Check on your property before the outdoor unit gets a spot, because it shows which kinds of flooding could reach the yard. Near the water, we'd pick a unit and an installer who'll talk about corrosion protection and warranty conditions before you sign. Then size each room for humid summers. Send us your job: licence-checked installers who specialise in it see it where we have them in Moreton Bay, and only the one who takes it gets your contact details. If 48 hours pass with no Moreton Bay installer taking it, installers elsewhere in Queensland may see it too.
